...we forget that it is much more painful to enter the world, than to leave it. We do it all the time, but we don’t realize that we do it. We come back all the time, and each time, we tell ourselves that this time will be different. That this time we wont waste ourselves away with the troubles of the world. That this time we wont go schizophrenic, we wont go manic, but when we return, we forget all the promises we had made to ourselves. We write lists and put them in our pockets or write them on our hands in the hopes that some trace of our past lives, our past memories will seep through to our next lives, but our own bodily secretions eat up these reminders, get dissolved up in the ‘after-birth’ if it doesn’t get consumed up by the placenta first. And we enter our new life, in our new body, with our new energy of youth and mostly forget everything that once was. We forget how to use our own eyes...how to feed ourselves...how to talk. We wake up in the middle of the night in pure terror because of images we cannot comprehend. Forgetting that they could be reminders of our past, but we call them dreams or nightmares, and not history...
